The YCET Central Library & Resource Center, functioning as an information disseminating centre catering to the needs of students, faculties and staff of YCET community, has a major role in paving the way for better academic excellence.The Central library spreads over with an area of 806sq.mtr with a capacity of 120 persons and specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Engineering and Technology, Applied Science, Management, and Humanities. In the year 2022, the library has shifted to an advanced library management open source platform KOHA 20.5 for library automation. The bibliographic records of books, journals and other materials in the library can now be accessed globally through the web OPAC facility.

     There is a collection of 23709 Volumes of Books, 40 Print Journals, magazines and AICTE mandatory subscription of E. journals packages of Under graduate and Post graduate programs.All the books are Barcoded.One PC installed for searching books through Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC) at the Entrance.To provide the right information at the right time in the right manner, library is looking towards modernizing it and is putting maximum efforts to make the best use of advancements in Information, computer and communication technologies in this regard.

PROGRAMMES

• B.Tech. Civil Engineering

  Eligibility for admission: - Candidates with a pass in the Plus – Two Examination of Kerala Higher Secondary Board or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto, securing a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. Presently the Dept: offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) course in Civil Engineering with an annual intake capacity of 60. The department has been always attracting quality students through the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Government of Kerala. Those who want to get admission under the Management quota should apply to the management and qualify the Engineering entrance examination conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examination; Government of Kerala.




• M.Tech. Structural Engineering

  The M.Tech degree Course is for two years comprises of four semesters. Eligibility for admission to M.Tech programme is a ‘pass’ in the B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation with 60% marks of any University recognized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. Dept: offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) with an annual intake of 18. Credit system is adopted for the course. Grade point average is calculated on the basis of all courses taken by the student. The department offers a syllabus covering the major thrust areas in the field of Structural Engineering.
