The mission of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is to impart under-graduate education in the discipline of Computer Science and Engineering. The department has been running B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering from 2002 onwards. There are about nearly 200 students enrolled in this program at present. The teaching missions of the Department encompass a widerange of areas,including multimedia, internet technologies, cryptography and security, databases, datamining, software engineering, computer architecture, compilers, operating systems, programming languages, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and visualization, algorithms and complexity theory.

     The Department has 6 laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art computing facilities to support teaching activities.The department proudly posses this lab with high speed internet connectivity using ISDN. These students can use the Internet for augmenting their knowledge.

     The computer association CURSOR is functioning with the active participation from the students and the faculty members. The members of this association have presented papers in seminars conducted by other college. The association conducts academic as well as non-academic programs, which provide the students a chance to bring out their talents.

     The department offers two streams of B.Tech courses in Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology, and two post graduate levels M.Tech. Degrees with a major in Computer Science & Engineering and Network Engineering.

PROGRAMMES

• B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering

  Eligibility for admission: - Candidates with a pass in the Plus – Two Examination of Kerala Higher Secondary Board or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto, securing a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. Presently the Dept: offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) course in Computer Science & Engineering with an annual intake capacity of 60. The department has been always attracting quality students through the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Government of Kerala. Those who want to get admission under the Management quota should apply to the management and qualify the Engineering entrance examination conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examination; Government of Kerala.




• M.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering

  The M.Tech degree Course is for two years comprises of four semesters. Eligibility for admission to M.Tech programme is a ‘pass’ in the B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation with 60% marks of any University recognized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. Dept: offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) with an annual intake of 12. Credit system is adopted for the course. Grade point average is calculated on the basis of all courses taken by the student. The department offers a syllabus covering the major thrust areas in the field of Structural Engineering.

• M.Tech. Network Engineering

  The M.Tech degree Course is for two years comprises of four semesters. Eligibility for admission to M.Tech programme is a ‘pass’ in the B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation with 60% marks of any University recognized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala.
